In 2005 I moved to Australia from Devon, UK, with my husband Gareth and my two children, currently 14 and 12 years. I am originally from Pembrokeshire in Wales. Whilst in the UK I was a police officer for 16 years whilst my husband was in the Royal Navy. This lead to an interesting life! We emigrated for a better way of life and the Royal Australian Navy provided this opportunity for us. I found a new career as an Education Assistant at Leeming SHS Education Support Centre and during 2010 I enrolled as a mature aged student at Murdoch University to embark on a new journey towards becoming a Primary school teacher.
I am aware this will be a slow, but hopefully rewarding process. In the meantime I still enjoy getting out and about pounding the streets to clear my head in between all the sports and school activities of my children.

Well, I survived! In fact I have come away feeling more confident than I imagined. I think that having a family, kids to run around to sport and a husband in the Navy (although incredibly supportive), has made me organise myself quite well. I had read the online course content and was well prepared. Felt a bit of a swat with my own laptop but it was mentioned that there might be time to work on our assignments and the more practice I have on my laptop the better. Only a few of us admitted to having started the assignment and a little help from a co-student was great for the next part. Maybe all will be well. Even thinking about teaching some of the students I work with how to create their own webpage to blog about their final year in school! Enjoyed the lecture too. It was inspiring to see how all the technology works together. Will keep you posted to see how I get.
